Virginia Hickey is an artist from Midlothian, Virginia and specializes in portraits. She has the wonderful ability to capture the essence of a person and her greatest joy is to deliver the completed portrait to the family. "There is nothing in the art field that compares to the pleasure a parent expresses when they see the finished portrait of their child." It is an heirloom to be enjoyed forever.
Virginia works exclusively as a portrait artist out of her studio in Virginia but will arrange to travel to the home of clients for a photography session. Virginia is a member of the Portrait Society of America, The Bon Air Artists Association, Richmond Porcelain Artists, Virginia Porcelain Artists and the World of China Artists. Virginia has won several blue ribbons at the Virginia State Fair for her oil and watercolor portraits.
Virginia attends seminars and art classes regularly in order to constantly improve on her paintings. "It is stimulating and educational to paint with other artists and to be in the presence of the masters." She considers her mentor to be Christy Talbott, a renowned Richmond Artist. Together they have taken seminars with Raymond Kinstler, a famous portrait artist from New York.
